Using REHIDROL-S in suckling pigs prevents development of hypoglycemia and dehydration caused by high outside temperatures and metabolic acidosis. This treatment is beneficial for the welfare of the animal, but also justified economically. The combination of water, glucose, and electrolytes with the amino acid glycine is resorbed well from the intestines and quickly forms the effective concentrations in the organism. This way it ensures energy and normalizes the electrolyte imbalance, thus directly preventing death of piglets.
The systematic oral rehydration of piglets from birth until 7 days of age reduces death and stimulates general health of piglets.
Mix 150 grams of powder ( entire content of bottle) into 5 l of water for the first 24 hours, then 150 grams into 10 liters of water until the piglets fully recover. Make fresh solution every day.
